We've been enjoying a touch of Spring-like weather here the past few days. With most of the snow gone from the lawn, I took a leisurely stroll outside last Saturday, picking up numerous fallen twigs and small branches. I spotted a few birds, and then looked again--robins!  My mother told me the first sighting of a robin in Spring was special, since it meant that warm Spring weather was on the way. I, in turn, told my children--and grandchildren--to watch for the first Spring robin. I saw a LOT of robins last Saturday--almost an invasion. I also spied a few brave daffodil shoots coming up under the lilac bushes. Although we still have a few patches of snow on the lawn, I'm hoping the robins are right and Spring is on the way!

Thinking about Spring, I recalled that Panetone had announced their colors of the year for 2016. Usually there is just one color of the year, but 2016 has two: Rose Quartz and Serenity. Rose Quartz is a lovely light rose color stone and Lee has used it in several designs. Serenity represents a lovely, soft blue and is represented in several gemstones as well as numerous Swarovski crystals.

Here are a few of my favorites you might enjoy designed with Panetone's 2016 Colors of the Year:
